Co-Curricular Program

Student Government

The Student Government is the highest governing body of UPRHS students. It is an umbrella organization that collaborates with all other student organizations along with the UPRHS faculty and staff to accomplish a set goal.

Algeotrics

Algeotrics, derived from Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus and Statistics, is the organization through which math-related activities of the school are carried on. Together with DTESS, it spearheads the annual Sci-Math Fair. The club also coordinates the participation of the school in various math-related contests such as the Philippine Math Olympiad and Australian Math competition.

Delta Theta Epsilon Science Society

The Science club of UPRHS, DTESS, means “to God belongs the power, honor and glory; to man belongs the adventures of science,” in Greek Episteme doxa thou theo. The club aims to promote academic excellence in the field of science and technology, to develop individual interest and initiative in undertaking science projects and activities. DTESS, together with the Algeotrics Club, sponsors the annual Local Science Fair and Exhibits.

Filipino Agricultural Scientists of Tomorrow

FAST was initiated in order to develop farming skills of boys through the school’s agriculture curriculum. The main activities of the club include skills development in Agriculture such as Animal Husbandry, Land Preparation, Crop Productions and Engineering. The club conducts the annual HE-Aggie Fair Exhibits, an event which it co-sponsors with the HE Club.

Home Economics Club

This organization is supervised by the Home Economics Department with membership involving only girls within the school. Together with the Filipino Agricultural, Science and Technology Department, they spearhead the annual HE-Aggie Fair and Exhibits.

Kalipunan ng Mag-aaral ng Lipunan Para sa Bayan

A socio-civic club that aims to foster social awareness, patriotism and volunteerism among the Rural High School students.

Samahang Diwa at Panitik

Ang samahang Diwa at Panitik ang kauna-unahang samahang itinatag sa UPRHS. Layunin ng pagtatatag nito ang pagbubuklod sa mga mag-aaral na Pilipino sa pamamagitan ng sariling wika at panitikan. Pangkalahatang layunin ng samahan ang paglinang sa mga kakayahan ng mga mag-aaral sa larangan ng teatro, tulad ng pag-arte, pagsayaw, pag-awit at pagsulat. Bukod ditto, sinasanay rin ang mga kasapi sa pagplano at pamamahala ng iba’t ibang gawaing pansining at pangkultura. Ilan sa mga Gawain ng Samahan ang paghahanda at pamamahala sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika at pagtatanghal ng mga dula na karaniwang nilalahukan ng maraming mag-aaral.

Speech and Dramatics Club

The SDC works under the supervision of the English Department. The SDC taps and hones the talents of its members in dramatics and related arts by sponsoring various productions and workshops in acting, speaking, writing and directing. Its usual activities include Cultural Week presentations, plays, film showings and workshops on acting, writing, speaking and directing. The club also sponsors talks and symposium on the various facets of speech and dramatics, debates, public speaking and literary activities such as Speech Choir, Chamber Theater, Short plays, full length stage production, poetry reading, and writing and playwriting.

Sports Club

The Sports Club (SC) was recognized as an organization in 1993. It aims to develop skills for sports activities, sportsmanship, and fair play among Ruralites. The UPRHS varsity teams represent the school in various sports competitions such as the District Meet, Unit Meet, Provincial Meet, friendship and invitational games, and even in national and international tournaments.

Filipiniana Dance Troupe

Founded as Filipiniana Dance Troupe in 1968, the UPRHS Dance Troupe, trains its members in the modern, folk, street jazz, modern jazz, ballroom dancing, and dance sport. Just like the Glee Club, they perform in different programs inside and outside the University. The members undergo extensive workshops to maintain the high level of performance the group is known for.

Glee Club

A club highly acclaimed by the University, the Glee Club enhances the singing skills of the members who perform inside and outside the school. Members of this club attend regular music classes for the first quarter and continue their music education through the regular training in the organization.

The Ruralite

The Ruralite (TR) is the official student publication of UPRHS. It purposefully advocates social, political, cultural, and economic awareness and growth by reporting and promoting issues deemed relevant to all. It conducts various journalism-related activities that prove beneficial to the school and community. It practices and inculcates among its members the Journalist’s Code of Ethics.

UPRHS Samahan ng mga Pintor

UPRHS Samahan ng mga Pintor (Usapintor) is an organization of students who share interests in the study, creation, and propagation of visual arts. It provides an environment where the young artists of UPRHS can express and develop their art. With this, students will excel in various forms of visual arts and will start appreciating the importance visual arts.

Peer Facilitators Circle

The Peer Facilitators Circle (PFC) is a group of qualified students trained to address a broad range of topics by providing one-on-one, confidential support to UPRHS students. Peer facilitators offer an encouraging atmosphere where students can talk openly about issues, challenges and accompanying feelings. They help students develop solutions to their problems through the use of active listening, open dialogue and practical coping skills. They also refer students to the guidance counselor who need further counseling or professional help. Annual activities include Group Discussions, Outreach Program, Wellness and Mental Health Talks; Career Seminars, Leadership trainings, Accountability groups.
